The upcoming Amnesty in Belarus may be also convicted for 328 article of the Criminal code. About it the correspondent of BelTA was reported by the Minister of internal Affairs of Belarus Igor Shunevich.
Answering the question about the expected number of those who will be affected by the Amnesty, the Minister said: "an Accurate count, we were not. We will focus on previous amnesties, which were conducted in our training."
"Most likely, will offer Amnesty for certain categories of persons. It soldiers-internationalists, veterans of war, military conflict, single parents who have minor children, the disabled people, Chernobyl victims and so on. Perhaps for some offences will be asked very often asked about the drug articles — 328 (trafficking of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their precursors and analogues. — Approx. BelTA). I believe that it is possible to consider the question, and I'll make that offer to reduce the sentence to certain categories of convicts under this article," — said the Minister.
Igor Shunevich noted that the bill will be soon prepared and submitted to the Parliament, that it had to consider Independence Day.
As reported, in late February, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting with Supreme court Chairman Valentin Sukalo instructed jointly with the interior Ministry to draft a bill on Amnesty in connection with 75-th anniversary of liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. "The last Amnesty we had four years ago. Given that this is the anniversary date, Amnesty may be broader than it is usually held. May relate to persons serving sentences, in terms of reduction of terms of imprisonment", — noted in conversation with journalists Valentin Sukalo.
