In Kazan the activist of the "Open Russia" is threatened with criminal case
The activist of the "Open Russia" Kazan said that the staff of the Centre for combating extremism (Center "e") came home to her parents and threatened to have their daughter's criminal case. According to Gulnaz Railway, the police demanded her to get out of the opposition movement. About this activist announced on his page in Facebook.
Parents Railway was summoned to the police station, where they were shown materials that allegedly are preparing to Institute criminal proceedings against activists. They put a condition that if their daughter will write a statement in Moscow about the release of "British organizations" and give some comments to the press-service, the staff "will be forgotten like a bad dream."
On 21 January the police came with a search warrant to another activist of the "Open Russia" in Kazan Elsa Nyssanbekova. This was due to the fact Anastasia Shevchenko, who became the first accused in a criminal case on cooperation with undesirable organization.
In Russia is deemed "undesirable" activities of 15 organizations. In cooperation with them provides for administrative and criminal liability. Among them, the "national endowment for democracy", "American-Russian Fund on economic and law development", "open Society Institute" and registered in the UK and associated with Mikhail Khodorkovsky structure Open Russia Civic Movement and OR (Otkrytaya Rossia).
