The General Director of the Tretyakov gallery the Zelfira Tregulova reprimanded in connection with the theft of paintings by artist Arkhip Kuindzhi, according to RBC with reference to the Ministry of culture. The Department found that the theft was made possible "as a result of raskoordinirovannosti actions of structural divisions of the Museum."
Reprimands also announced chief guardian of the exhibition, the head of the exhibition Department, the head of the Department of Museum keepers, sector head, Department of Museum custodians and the chief engineer.
In addition, the Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky has ordered to dismiss the head of the security service of the Tretyakov gallery.
Until the end of February, the Ministry of culture will inspect security systems at the State Museum of fine arts named after Pushkin, the Hermitage and the Russian Museum. According to their results, recommendations will be prepared for strengthening of security measures.
