The price of gas for households of Ukraine in 2013 grew by more than 10 times. This resulted in the decision of the Kiev regime to comply with the requirements of the IMF to balance the budget by increasing the price of natural gas.
"We will not be able to do it, because according to the decree of Cabinet of Ministers No. 867 price and terms of sale of gas for households are set by the government. So we went to Cabinet with a proposal to amend the regulation of this question", — quotes news Agency "Ukrainian news" the statement of the representative of the press service of the NAC.
Earlier in the day, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that he will instruct NAK "Naftogaz" and the Ministry of Finance to begin negotiations with the International monetary Fund (IMF) about the inadmissibility of raising gas prices for the population.
On 14 March the head of "Naftogaz" Andrew KOBOLEV said that because of declining gas prices in Europe can not only raise tariffs but also to reduce them.
"Naftogaz" proposes to abolish state regulation of gas prices, however, as noted by the co-chair of the energy strategies Foundation Dmytro Marunych in an interview with Ukraine.ru, the decision will only lead to an increase in the cost of natural gas.
